Sunday April 27th, 2008 Parque de la Ciutadella
Thinking what to do on a Sunday afternoon? Go into the “Parque de la Ciutadella” where everybody is hanging out, playing games, taking the sun, having beers or playing drums.
Beeing the only big park in the center of Barcelona it gets quite lively on a weekend and is a good place to visit and relax.
Wednesday April 23rd, 2008 sending letters
The post offices in Spain are called “correos” (www.correos.es). In case you want to send a letter or a postcard you can buy stamps in any tobacco store and just dump it into one of these yellow mail boxes. (Don’t use the green one, that is for the posts own use)
Monday April 21st, 2008 Embutidos
Sausages, hams and cheeses as seen in this Barcelona shop window are a gastronomic speciality here in Catalunya. Cold cuts, so called “Embutidos” are even offered in some restaurants and best accompanied by “pa amb tomà quet”, (bread with tomato and garlic) and a glas of wine or beer!
Friday April 18th, 2008 rainy days
Be prepared to wear a coat if you leave your flat these days or better don’t leave. Barcelona is not realy made for bad weather and streets will be empty anyway. This photo is an archive shot which was actualy taken in autumn ’05 in Sitges, but it was pretty much the same yesterday…
Wednesday April 16th, 2008 Poble Sec
I felt flat-envy this weekend, after being invited to a barbecue at a friends apartment. Hanging out on the terrace all afternoon, taking sun and having beers and food was just fantastic. Damn, would I like to have a place like this!
